WORD Travelers is the theme of Workshop Rotation, our Sunday school model for grades 1-4. We want children to be engaged with the Bible at age appropriate levels and discover its relevance to their daily lives. They will experience the story in many environments making use of multiple intelligences and thus keeping the children interested. We also want to give the children the opportunity to become a part of a community within their Sunday school group while giving them contact with many caring adults from our church family.
The Workshop Rotation model works by:
- dividing the children by grade into groups which meet together all year and have a guide that is committed to them from Promotion Sunday through the end of May,
- rotating the groups throughout each workshop during each unit (4-5 weeks) so that everyone experiences the lesson in all the learning environments,
- recruiting teachers for each unit who are commit to teach in the same workshop for all weeks of the unit.
